Deburring

In addition to precision machining, Kaseman Machine (KMI) offers a variety of secondary operations, such as deburring, to ensure flawless finishes and completed parts are delivered to our customers every time.

What is Deburring?

Deburring Parts

Many machining processes, no matter how advanced, have a tendency to leave small ridges or protrusions of metal on parts known as burrs, which can affect the dimensional accuracy and performance of the finished parts. Deburring is a process that removes those imperfections and smooths out the surface, creating a much more reliable part.

Deburring parts after the machining process is complete can also have other preventative benefits. Burrs can cause cracking and premature failure, increase a part’s susceptibility to corrosion and mechanical stresses, and cause unwanted friction and heat or metal-to-metal wear. They can also affect assemblies, causing damage to fasteners and reducing their long-term efficacy.

At KMI, we perform services such as deburring to ensure that our customers receive safer metal components with enhanced functionality and quality. We are committed to meeting or exceeding customer expectations and take several steps to ensure that no part leaves our facility until we’re certain it meets rigorous quality standards.
